Hello!
Broadly, my research is in fluid mechanics and physical oceanography. I study small scale mixing in the ocean and its impact on weather and climate. I develop and use numerical tools to study processes in our oceans.
My recent work is in the field of hybrid modeling where components of a traditional ocean climate model are replaced by data-driven models (such as neural networks). Physics based data-driven model increase fidelity and trust leading to improved representation of physics.
